Boston Fern, Bird's Nest Fern

The Boston Fern, Latin name Nephrolepis exaltata, belongs to the family of kidney ferns and is often native to the tropical regions of the Earth. Few people know about its detoxifying and purifying properties, which are particularly useful. In addition to carbon dioxide, it also filters other harmful substances from the air, such as the decomposition of xylene. The indoor fern is a very popular foliage plant not only because of its beautiful appearance but also because of its easy care.

In addition, pet owners do not have to shy away from keeping indoor ferns, as they are harmless to our pets if they accidentally consume them.

Care

It prefers semi-shady places. It should be protected from direct sunlight, especially during the summer months. It only tolerates the scorching, direct sunlight if we provide it with adequate humidity despite the heat. In summer, it can even be placed outdoors in the open air, just don't expose it to constant sunlight.

Interesting fact

This is one of the best air-purifying plants that can be grown in the home. The Boston Fern is also known as a natural humidifier, and it also has a beneficial effect on dry skin. Make sure that its soil always remains moist and, if possible, place it in a very sunny place.

The purchased plant must always be repotted in order to keep it in the home for the long term. We recommend repotting them in a larger pot or box so that they feel comfortable in the heated home and do not wither. It is important not to forget to spray (with water)!
