Umbrella Cyclamen (Cyclamen sp.)

 

Appearance

• Leaves: Heart-shaped, dark green, with silvery or marbled patterns.

• Flowers: The petals are bent backwards, resembling an "umbrella" shape, hence its popular name.

  • Their colour can be: white, pink, crimson, purple, or red.

• Flower stem: Leafless, 10–15 cm high, the flower almost floats above the plant.

• Bulb (tuber): Flattened, brown, develops underground, from which the plant sprouts every year.

Environmental requirements

• Light: Partial shade, diffused light – does not like direct sun.

• Temperature: Prefers a cool environment (10–18 °C is ideal).

• Soil: Loose, humus-rich, well-draining soil.

• Watering: Moderate – it is important not to let it stand in water, as the tuber is prone to rot.

• Wintering: Garden varieties are frost-hardy, but indoor varieties require protection.

Usage

Before placing our bouquet in water, dissolve the nutrient solution in 0.5L of water, cut the stems fresh, and then place it in a vase. 

Storage

Store at 20°C.
