About the brand

The production of Karaván cheese is based on decades of tradition. The manufacturer still smokes its cheeses with real beech wood to this day, which is why the taste of Karaván is synonymous with the taste of smoked cheese. Sliced Karaván cheese is ideal for making sandwiches, giving them a special smoky flavor.

The Karaván brand, founded in 1955, is the most famous traditional Hungarian smoked cheese, made using a traditional smoking process. The raw cheeses are placed on a smoking trolley and then put into the smokehouse. Here, at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, the Karaván cheese develops its characteristic old-gold rind and fine, spicy flavor. An interesting feature of its production is that it is smoked using a real smoking method, with beech wood logs, without the addition of flavors. Its texture melts easily in the mouth, it is soft and creamy, but easy to cut.

Preserves its quality when stored between +2 and +8°C.
