The main types of beer
Although we might think that beers can be categorized based on their color, taste, or other characteristics, in reality, this is done according to the type of yeast that performs the fermentation. We distinguish three types of beer: bottom-fermented, top-fermented, and spontaneously fermented beer, or more commonly known as lager, ale, and for example kriek or lambic, which we will return to later.
