Grow your herbs at home!
We provide advice on how to do it and share some inspiration on how to use the plants as beautiful decorations.
Growing herbs from seeds is not difficult. Moreover, the whole bag of seeds is enough for a few large boxes. A super economical option for a few forints. Use a substrate suitable for herbs for growing the plants – it contains nutrients and minerals in an ideal ratio. The unique structure ensures optimal aeration of the roots towards the plants, thereby accelerating their growth. Thanks to its high water absorption, it perfectly supplies the plants with water and prevents waterlogging and root rot.

Which herbs are suitable for the windowsill?
Basil, chives, oregano, parsley, coriander, sage, rosemary, mint, marjoram, or dill. Choose according to your taste!
How to plant seeds?
At the bottom of the pot or container you plan to plant in, create a drainage layer from stones or small brick pieces, old flower pots, etc. Add a layer of substrate, leaving a 3 cm gap at the bottom of the pot, gently press the seeds and cover with the remaining 1 cm of substrate. You will only need a few seeds, about 6-8 for a medium-sized flower pot. You can speed up the process with a layer of foil over the flower pot, which provides the seeds with the necessary moisture. Pierce the foil several times to ensure the plants have enough air.
Caring for planted seeds
Give them light and water. It's better to water in the morning or evening when the sun is not shining. It's best to let tap water stand before watering. And remember: the more heat in the room, the more often you need to water. Do not over-fertilize the herbs!
Which herbs to grow
There are plenty of options. You can use an old flower pot, a wooden box to place the pots in, or you can use paint cans or pickle jars. The herbs will feel great outside the window, you can hang them directly on hooks above the kitchen, or let them hang as living decorations.
