The asparagus available in the Kifli.hu range is provided by Bács-Zöldért from Kecskemét, which has a history of more than 65 years. They have established Hungary's largest plantation of 200 hectares, where nearly 2000 tons of premium quality, self-produced vegetables and fruits are housed. They pay exceptional attention to the cultivation of peppers (TV, kápia, pritamin) as well as asparagus.

 

The producer from Kecskemét combines traditional horticultural knowledge with the most modern agricultural science results, which is noticeable in the outstanding quality of fresh produce from the very first bite.

A little catch-up so you know what you're eating! Green asparagus is a perennial plant belonging to the lily family, and we consume its thickened shoot, the asparagus spear. It is not only different in its pale green color compared to the white variety, but its taste is also more intense. And that's the point! It can be widely used as a side dish with meats, in soups, or as an appetizer on its own, or perhaps wrapped in salty pancakes with several spears. It contains a lot of water, vitamin C, and potassium, and its energy content is low. And now is its season!
