Our February Favorite: Doughnuts

Numerous folk beliefs are associated with carnival doughnuts, one particularly interesting one says that they symbolize wealth and growth, and the more we eat of them, the easier it will be to endure the fasting period. We don't want the truth of this to depend on us, so we have selected from our producers the excellent ingredients you may need for preparation.

 

As many houses, as many customs when it comes to carnival doughnuts, but one thing is common: quality ingredients and sufficient time investment.

Surely you also have memories of when grandma made them and sifted the flour before kneading it with the other ingredients. This is an important step in making doughnuts because it makes the dough softer.

Another important ingredient is the egg. Heppenheimer eggs come from free-range hens. The animals scratch around in a fenced area during the day, which is reflected in the texture and taste of the eggs. Their feed is made up of wheat, sunflower, and corn grown by local farmers, taking into account the seasons and the needs of the animals.

If you prefer it sweeter, it is recommended to sprinkle it with powdered sugar while still warm, and serve it with divine homemade jam or hazelnut cream. We know it's not a diet-friendly treat, so it's worth taking a long walk after consumption.
