Interesting facts
One of our oldest cultivated plants, this herb originating in Asia is grown and consumed almost everywhere in the world. It is very low in calories. Purple onions have been used for medicinal purposes both externally and internally for centuries.
Use
It can be used primarily to flavour soups, stews and meat dishes, but it can also be used to make independent dishes and can be added to salads, cold dishes and pickles in many ways.
French onion soup or fried onions are piquant dishes - they do not have a strong smell at all, so they can be consumed without hesitation.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place, between 5-10 °C.
