Classic Whisky Highball

Ingredients

• 40 ml The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky
•  120 ml ginger ale
• One slice of lemon

Method: Take a tall highball glass, fill it with ice, pour in the whisky, then the ginger ale! Garnish with a slice of lemon! If you'd rather have a more traditional whisky highball cocktail, swap the ginger ale for soda water!

Serving suggestion

Enjoy neat or on the rocks, or mix with soda for a refreshing long drink.

Producer information

The Dufftown distillery was founded by Peter MacKenzie in 1896 at the height of the first golden age of Scotch whisky. However, three years after the distillery opened, the home market collapsed and the MacKenzie family were forced to look overseas. MacKenzie and his sons cracked the American market with astonishing speed and managed to prosper even during Prohibition. When Prohibition was finally repealed in 1933, Dufftown was one of only 15 Scotch distilleries still in existence. To this day, Dufftown continues to produce the same high quality spirit that enabled it to survive the darkest decade in the history of whisky making. The same traditional methods, centuries of craftsmanship and the ancient water source are the foundations of this award-winning whisky, renowned as one of the smoothest and most approachable in Scotland. The success is due to the slow distillation and the secret blend of European and American oak casks.
