Europe's favourite gluten-free brand was born in a small drugstore in Merano, a South Tyrolean town. The Schär brand itself came into being in 1922, and initially, its range consisted of gluten-free infant formulas developed by Dr. Anton Schär, chief physician of Innsbruck. His son, Ulrich Ladurner, took over the management of the drugstore from his parents at the age of 23, and because he was very interested in gluten-free products, he added them to the store's offerings. This was a kind of revolution for those with gluten sensitivity: as the range of gluten-free products grew, their quality of life could also improve. To this day, Schär can provide gluten-free versions of the most popular foods. In taste, smell, appearance, and texture, they are almost identical and can be seamlessly integrated into daily routines. Schär products also include healthy ready meals.
