Poinsettia in red 10.5 pots

The poinsettia is nowadays one of the symbolic houseplants of Christmas. In the early '60s, it was still known as a tall-growing shrub that was difficult to keep its leaves and flowers in an apartment. However, today's cultivated varieties are bushier, more decorative, and more resilient.

The purchased plant must always be repotted to ensure its long-term survival in the apartment. We recommend repotting them into a larger pot or container so that they feel good in a heated apartment and do not wilt. It is important not to forget spraying (with water)!

Usage

Its water requirement is average, needing slightly more watering in summer. It should only be watered when its soil starts to dry out slightly. Wait until the top 1/3 of the soil is dry. There's no need to worry about its dry soil, as our plant, belonging to the spurge family, can store enough water on its own. Remember that overwatering is much more harmful to it than "thirst." The most suitable is soft rainwater or melted snow. But if these are not available, still or slightly sparkling mineral water will also do. (The carbon dioxide present in the water promotes plant growth, but only in small quantities!)

Storage

Store between 15-20 °C, in a non-dry room.
