Bernard Czech red beer with 5% alcohol content

Bernard Amber Lager is an unpasteurized, reddish full-bodied beer. The rich yeasty and dominant notes of the four-malt blend harmonize beautifully. The Saaz hop extract lends a slightly pronounced flavor, but in the end it bids farewell with a mild, sweet caramel finish. After pouring, the slightly hazy color in the glass is caused by the yeast sediment due to the secondary bottle fermentation.

The Bernard brewery in Humpolec, Czech Republic, was founded in 1991 by three private individuals. They bought the originally ruined 16th century brewery at an auction and, after renovation, quickly made it one of the best-known premium brands in the Czech Republic.

The brewery's master brewers still adhere to their traditions today, which is why the unpasteurized, full-bodied beers they produce can almost be considered craft beers. Following fermentation in their own cellars, the beers are matured in accordance with tradition for several weeks at a temperature of around 1-2°C. The filtration process is carried out at 2°C using special microbiological filters, so that the wort retains its original aroma and flavor in addition to its healthy nutrients.
