Sweetcorn, known since the 19th century, is sweeter and contains more sugar instead of starch. It appears on the markets from the end of June, and its season ends in late August and September.

According to estimates, Indian tribes began to collect its valuable crop about 10-12 thousand years ago, and they began to cultivate it 5-7 thousand years ago. Its existence and origin are still a real mystery, partly because its wild form is not even known, and partly because it would no longer be able to reproduce without humans. Use
Boiled corn is tastier if, after cleaning and removing the whiskers, we place the husks next to the cobs in the cooking water. It is usually not cooked in salted water, but it may be even tastier if cooked with a little salt. We can also serve it by sticking a small fork or toothpick into both ends of the cob, so it can even become a more elegant dish. Spread with a little homemade butter while still warm, it is really delicious.
