Producer Information

The company Franck Henrik and Sons was founded in 1822. Its coffee products were well-received in the countries of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, including Hungary. In 1911, after Kassa, Budapest, and Nagykanizsa, it also opened its chicory processing and coffee substitute production plant in Mosonszentjános.

During the reorganization of the Hungarian Confectionery Company in 1971, the factory unit was attached to the Győri Biscuit and Wafer Factory. Its product list expanded significantly: in addition to 12 types of coffee substitutes, another 44 types of confectionery products were produced, e.g., tea flavorings, cream powders, candies, roasted peanuts. During the privatization following the change of regime, in 1991, it came into the ownership of United Biscuits along with the Győri Biscuit and Wafer Factory. After several years of consideration, the English owner decided to sell the factory unit that did not fit its profile. Thus, in 1994, the distinguished company came under Hungarian-Swiss ownership and MULTI-CIKÓRIA Kft. operates under this name.
