Thus Heineken was born and quickly became the favourite of Amsterdam and soon the whole of the Netherlands. Heineken is a lager beer brewed with a special A-yeast, which guarantees the unmistakably harmonious, slightly fruity flavour notes.

HEINEKEN Hungária Sörgyárak Zrt. is a key player in the Hungarian market thanks to its more than one hundred years of brewing experience and its internationally recognised brands. Brewing has a long tradition in Sopron. In March 1895, Brno brewery owners and city wholesalers felt the time was right and founded the Sopron factory under the name Első Soproni Serfőzde és Malátagyár (First Sopron Brewery and Malt Factory). In the city, which has been involved in viticulture for centuries, the city councillors regulated the sale of beer as early as 1523. According to the decree of the time, the Franciscan friars rang the bell at 8 pm to inform the citizens that no beer would be served after the beer bell had rung.
