MOKOS Barrique Sour Cherry Wine is a premium dry fruit wine made from 100% fresh sour cherries from Palkonya. The wine's specialty is that it spent a year in new, 225-liter Hungarian oak barrels, thus the barrique aging, characteristic of red wines, enriches the fruity flavors with chocolate, coffee, and smoky notes.

Producer information

Our Family Winery has been present in the life of the Villány Wine Region for three generations – now in two settlements: Palkonya and Villánykövesd. The big breakthrough in our winery's life came in 2003, when Gábor Mokos began planting 15 hectares of vines in the Weingarten vineyard in Palkonya, complementing the Villánykövesd plantations inherited from our ancestors. We expanded our areas in 2018 by planting 2 hectares of white grapes, thereby broadening the possibilities of winemaking in terms of varieties.
