Producer information
In 1840, József Zwack founded the Zwack company. On May 22, 1883, the drink was registered "to protect the stomach-strengthening liqueur marketed under the name Unicum", which was made according to the recipe from 1790, in the original round bottle with a red cross on the label.
In 1909, one of their most famous and important icons was born, the "water man". On the iconic poster made by Viktor Pachl, Unicum is called the "best stomach-strengthening liqueur".
In 2012, Zwack innovated again: they combined two real Hungarian products, Unicum and plums, which are also native to our country, and thus Unicum Szilva was born. The specialty of the liqueur is that the drink is aged on dried plums piled in oak barrels, which is unique in the world.
