Alnatura Organic Flaxseed

Brown flaxseed is extremely versatile in the kitchen: it is suitable as an aromatic, nutty ingredient in baked goods, muesli and savoury curd dishes, as well as for sprinkling on casseroles and salads. Since flaxseeds swell easily, they should be consumed with plenty of fluids. Alnatura flaxseed comes from organic farming.

Use - Spelt-buckwheat bread

Preparation time
15 minutes + 1 hour baking time

Ingredients
For 20 slices:

• 1 Alnatura Organic yeast cube (42 g)
• 500 ml lukewarm water
• 2 tablespoons Alnatura Organic Apple cider vinegar, unfiltered (22 ml)
• 400 g Alnatura Organic Wholemeal spelt flour
• 100 g buckwheat flour
• 2 heaped teaspoons salt (16 g)
• 175 g Alnatura Organic Flaxseed
• 150 g Alnatura Organic Hulled sunflower seeds
• 175 g Alnatura Organic Unhulled sesame seeds
• 150 g Alnatura Organic Hulled pumpkin seeds
• 1 tablespoon sunflower oil (10 ml)

Preparation

to make the dough

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat.
2. Crumble the yeast and dissolve in water, add the apple cider vinegar.
3. Put both types of flour, the salt, the flaxseed, the sunflower seeds, the sesame seeds and the pumpkin seeds in a bowl, pour in the yeast mixture and knead the mass for about 3 minutes with the dough hook of the hand mixer.
4. Grease a baking tray (30 or 40 cm long) with oil, put the dough in it and bake immediately for about 1 hour.

Tip
You can also use light balsamic vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar.
