About the brand

The history of Dr. Oetker dates back to 1891: this is when pharmacist Dr. August Oetker experimented with the baking powder that is now considered a classic. The company's headquarters have been in Bielefeld ever since, but Dr. Oetker products are available in 40 countries around the world outside of Germany. The European and overseas organisations employ almost 8000 people. During the company's more than 100-year history, the Oetker family has always played an active role in managing the company.

Oetker products appeared in Hungary shortly after the foundation, at the beginning of the last century. Today, 350 people work in the Budapest office and the Jánossomorja manufacturing plant. The brand is present in grocery stores with more than a hundred different products, almost all of which are the most popular in their own category. Independent research results prove: Dr. Oetker is one of the best-known, most popular and most frequently used food brands in Hungary. Dr. Oetker Hungary has won the Superbrands award ten times.

Dr. Oetker strives to use environmental resources as sparingly as possible, avoid endangering people and the environment, and continuously develop all procedures and processes with the aim of further reducing the environmental impact. The environmental and climate protection regulations are mandatory for each of our employees. Thus, we have now succeeded in meeting the highest environmental protection requirements. Our goal for the future is to continuously reduce the environmental burden.
