About the brand

Their story began in Brighton, England in 1976. It all started with the founder, who believed in something revolutionary - that business could be a force for "good". Following her vision, they have been rule-breaking, honest, and change-making for over 40 years.  Back then, the shop was just a tiny, green-painted boutique smelling wonderful on a street in Brighton. It was completely different inside and out from the other big companies in the cosmetics industry. Yet it was completely simple - ethically sourced, naturally based ingredients from all over the world. The products and beauty rituals were made for everyone regardless of age, gender, or background, so that every customer could feel good in their own skin. Meanwhile, never promising that they could become someone else through them.  When The Body Shop started its journey, beauty was a fairly defined idea of what a girl or woman should look like. But The Body Shop had its own opinion on this. It believed that beauty is a source of joy, comfort, and confidence all in one. It is about what you love about yourself, and what truly makes you happy. The beauty products were mostly a self-loving moment of daily rituals, instead of offering the false promise of slimming or anti-wrinkle effects.
