Filippo Berio Pesto Classic with Basil

Pesto is a typical Italian sauce. It gets its name from the verb “pestare”, meaning to crush or grind, as all its variations contain crushed ingredients. Filippo Berio offers two types of traditional pesto sauce: the classic green version and the red version with sun-dried tomatoes.

• The main ingredients of the classic version are basil, garlic, parmesan, pine nuts, olive oil and spices.
• Compared to the basic version, the red pesto also contains a large proportion of dried tomatoes, which gives it its bright reddish colour.
