Interesting facts

It weighs 2-4 kg, is pear-shaped, has a smooth skin, and is a vibrant orange color. Its taste is reliably delicious, with a distinctly creamy texture, good for storage, and easy to process.

Usage

It serves as a good base for preparing soups, salads, juices, and vegetable stews. Due to its easy processability, it is very popular among homemakers. However, it carries less distinctive flavors compared to the Nagydobosi variety. This can be most experienced when preparing a pumpkin cream soup; next to a soup made from the Nagydobosi variety, an orange pumpkin cream soup might taste watery and bland.

Producer information

The Organic Kingdom organic farm is located in Kölcse, in the heart of the Szatmár region, in an untouched, less discovered natural environment. The Szatmár region is often referred to as Hungary's "orchard," famous for its apples, plums, walnuts, and sour cherries. The nature reserves in the area are ideal for organic farming.

The beginnings of the business date back to 1997 when they started growing vegetables as a family farm. The one-hectare area quickly expanded, and today they grow vegetables and fruits on 50 hectares. In 2003, they built a cold storage facility and packaging plant with a capacity of 600 tons.

In 2004, they switched to organic farming and have since stopped using artificial fertilizers, synthetic pesticides, and herbicides. Their environmental awareness and the preservation of their natural environment are of paramount importance to them.

Since 2005, they have been exporting to European Union countries and Israel, and are also present in the domestic market. Organic Kingdom Kft. was founded in 2008 for the distribution, processing, and export of organic vegetables and fruits. From the outset, they have offered long-term cooperation to local organic farmers.
