The Ziegler name guarantees quality to this day. The history of the Angyalföld wafer factory, which is now equipped with modern machinery, dates back to the beginning of the century, when József Ziegler, the grandfather, opened a bakery in a family house on the site of the current factory. When the company, which soon became one of the five largest bread factories, was also nationalized, his son Tibor Ziegler started making wafers with his wife in 1953, after obtaining his industrial certificate.

In 1953, the Ziegler Wafer Factory was founded as a private enterprise on Kodály Körönd. Initially, they only baked wafer sheets, later they also dealt with flavouring. They “reinvented” the Karlsbad wafer, which is filled but not a creamy wafer.
