Ziegler Alpine wafer slices are made according to a family recipe with wheat flour and low-fat cocoa powder. The crispiness of the product is preserved by resealing the bag.

The history of the modern, machine-equipped Angyalföld wafer factory dates back to the beginning of the century, when József Ziegler, the grandfather, opened a bakery in a family house on the site of the current factory.
When the company, which soon became one of the five largest bread factories, was nationalized, his son Tibor Ziegler, having obtained his industrial certificate in 1953, started making wafers with his wife.

In 1953, the Ziegler Wafer Factory was founded as a private enterprise on Kodály Körönd. Initially, they only baked wafer bases, later they also dealt with flavouring. They "reinvented" the Karlsbad wafer, which is filled but not a creamy wafer.
