The Ziegler name still guarantees quality today. The history of the modern, machine-equipped Angyalföld wafer baking plant dates back to the beginning of the century, when József Ziegler, the grandfather, opened a bakery in a family house on the site of the current plant. When the company, which soon became one of the five largest bread factories, was also nationalized, his son Tibor Ziegler, having obtained his industrial certificate in 1953, started baking wafers with his wife.

In 1953, the Ziegler Wafer Baking Plant was founded as a private enterprise on Kodály Körönd. Initially, they only baked wafer sheets, later they also dealt with flavoring. They “reinvented” the Karlsbad wafer, which is filled but not a creamy wafer.
