Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started to produce it in 1968, the idea of the originally Soviet dessert (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor of it filled with a curd-butter-sugar mixture, vanilla flavoured, chocolate coated already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") came to Hungary during a study trip between the COMECON countries. First, it was produced in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, then the production was also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. After the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatized, whereby the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Nowadays, the Pöttyös brand is still incredibly successful, as every age group can find their favourite flavour. Pöttyös products mean more than just a delicacy to us Hungarians. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, cheer us up!
