Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing the original Soviet dessert (the ancestor of the Soviet Union, a vanilla-flavored, chocolate-coated, curd-butter-sugar mixture, already existed in the Soviet Union under the name "glazirovannij szirok") in 1968, when the idea came to Hungary during a study trip between the CMEA countries. It was first produced in the Mátészalka dairy plant of Szabolcstej, then production was also started in the Nagybánhegyes Zalkatej dairy plant. After the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatized, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Nowadays, the Pöttyös brand is still incredibly successful, as every age group can find their favorite flavor. Pöttyös products mean more than just a delicacy to us Hungarians. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, cheer us up!
