Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing the original Soviet candy (in the Soviet Union, an ancestor of the curd-butter-sugar mixture filled with vanilla flavor and chocolate coating already existed under the name "glazirovannij szirok") in 1968, the idea came to Hungary during a study trip between the CMEA countries. It was first produced in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, then production also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. After the change of regime, the manufacturing companies were privatized, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

Even today, the Pöttyös brand enjoys incredible success, as every age group can find their favorite flavor. Pöttyös products mean more to us Hungarians than just a delicacy. They are always with us and always bring a smile to our face, cheer us up!
