Brand information

The Budapest Dairy Company began producing the original Soviet sweet in 1968 (an ancestor filled with a cottage cheese-butter-sugar mixture, vanilla-flavored, and chocolate-coated already existed in the Soviet Union under the name "glazirovanny syrok"), the idea of which came to Hungary during a study trip among Comecon countries. It was first produced in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, and later production also began in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. Following the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatized, through which the production of Túró Rudi came into the ownership of FrieslandCampina.

Today, the Pöttyös brand still enjoys incredible success, as every age group can find their favorite flavor. For us Hungarians, Pöttyös products mean more than just a treat. They are always with us, bringing a smile to our faces and putting us in a good mood at any moment!
