Chocolate Babka (Bányai) whole bean coffee
The creation of the "Chocolate Babka" was expressly intended to create a coffee for lovers of classic coffee flavors, which is free from the less desirable bitterness of dark roasted, classic coffees, but is not dominated by the acids typical of "new wave" coffees.
The Caturra and Catuai varieties grown on László Bányai's plantation in Lourdes, Costa Rica, were roasted slightly elongated and evenly, thus forming an excellent transition between the world of new wave and classic coffees. In its taste, we can feel strong dark chocolate, cocoa cake and sweet prunes at the end. Its acids are quite soft, free from offensive bitter notes.
Producer information
It comes from the plantation of László Bányai, a Hungarian farmer, in Lourdes, Costa Rica, where the cultivation and processing are carried out jointly with Sándor Tóth, the owner of Lucky Cap. László Bányai is responsible for plant cultivation, while Sándor Tóth is responsible for harvesting and processing.
The finca (the name for plantations smaller than 20 hectares) located at an altitude of 1,450 - 1,550 meters above sea level, is 90% Caturra and Catuai varieties.
