Producer information

The grapes of Hilltop are home to the wonderful Upper Pannonian wine region. It is wonderful because the cultural diversity of the region's settlements and the diversity of the landscape make the area a real jewel box.

The wine region, which stretches across the ridges, hillsides and hills of the Vértes, Buda, Gerecse, Kőszeg, Sopron mountains and the Velencei and Pannonhalma hills, is linked by the cooler character of the climate and the lively, acid-rich wines. Its climate is also shaped by the oceanic, wetter and cooler air currents arriving from the north and the southern Mediterranean influences, so there is much more white grape here than blue grape, in line with the weather conditions. Since the wine region is relatively large (stretching from Budapest to the western border of the country), the grape varieties grown are also very diverse, from Kékfrankos to Ezerjó to Chardonnay.
