Grand Tokaj Szamorodni sweet 

Its aroma beautifully displays a noble, elegant botrytis resulting from barrel aging, complemented by vanilla and citrus notes. Its taste is characterized by caramel creaminess, citrus, fresh, light fruitiness. Vibrant, playful acid-sugar-alcohol balance, with a long finish and a return at the end.

Producer information

Grand Tokaj is one of the most significant domestic wineries owned by the Tokaj-Hegyalja University Foundation, which - as the largest winery in the historic Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site - is the guardian and developer of the national winemaking tradition.

Their main activities at their Tolcsva bit center and their own vineyards are primarily grape production and purchasing, as well as winemaking and sales. The winery, which has 67 hectares of vineyards, is also a prominent player in their wine region: about 35% of the region's total wine production is made up of wines produced here.

As an integrator in the region, they currently purchase strictly controlled quality grapes from about 670 hectares of productive land in cooperation with winegrowers who have been working with them for years.

Their winery's wines, representing a renewed spirit, are made under the direction of Károly Áts, the winemaker who won the Winemaker of the Year award in 2012 and the Winemaker of Winemakers award in 2020, and who has been the company's chief winemaker since 2013.
