Gere Portugieser 2023 Villány

Andi and Gere have completely switched to certified organic protection on their own land. This is the third vintage of this incredibly light, elegant oportó, which will now be part of the Organic Selection series at the winery. Its colour is pale, like a pinot, but so purple that it is almost blue. Its aroma is floral, with plums, its flavour is friendly and flattering. If we were just getting to know red wine, we would start with this, if we were drinking red wine chilled, this would be on the terrace.

Producer information

The history of our winery began 7 generations ago, and we had to travel a long, challenging, hard-working, tradition-respecting, but at the same time innovative, experimental path to create the current GERE name, which is well-known both in Hungary and abroad. Today, our family estate reaches 70 hectares, and the younger generation is already part of the winery's everyday life. Our aim is to re-establish the intergenerational viticulture and winemaking that has been passed down from ancestors to descendants, based on the old Hungarian model.
