Producer information

The Budapest Dairy Company started producing the original Soviet dessert (the ancestor of the curd-butter-sugar mixture filled, vanilla flavoured, chocolate coated dessert already existed in the Soviet Union under the name "glazirovannij szirok") in 1968, after the idea was brought to Hungary during a study trip between the COMECON countries. It was first produced in the Szabolcstej dairy plant in Mátészalka, then production also started in the Zalkatej dairy plant in Nagybánhegyes. Following the regime change, the manufacturing companies were privatised, as a result of which the production of Túró Rudi became the property of Friesland-Campina.

The Pöttyös brand is still incredibly successful today, as every age group can find their favourite flavour. Pöttyös products mean more than just a treat to us Hungarians. They are always with us and bring a smile to our face and cheer us up at every moment!
