At Panificio il Basilico bakery, they believe in the farm-to-table concept: they are selective about the ingredients they use and source their ingredients from the best Hungarian and Italian, mostly artisan family-owned businesses.

A bit Italian, always high-quality, always a bit different, always a bit more creative: the "home" of Italy in Hungary. They want to bring the real Italian "food feeling", the Dolce Vita, the "sweet life" to life. Panificio il Basilico is for everyone who loves to eat delicious food.
Sourdough is the foundation of their artisan bakery. Their basic principle is that good bread needs nothing more than flour, water, salt and love. They do not use any additives or artificial ingredients. They work with aged sourdoughs and are particularly proud of their Italian sourdough, which was started 102 years ago and has been cultivated ever since, and comes from near Naples, but they also love to bake bread with their Austrian rye sourdough, which was started 53 years ago and comes from Innsbruck.
