About the brand

Fanta is a fruit-flavored soft drink produced by The Coca-Cola Company since 1940. The drink originally started in Germany during World War II. Max Keith, the head of the German Coca-Cola company, decided to create a new product from fruits. The name comes from a brainstorming session when the company's employees couldn't decide what to name the drink. Keith told his team to "use their imagination," whereupon Joe Knipp, one of the salespeople, exclaimed: "Fanta!" Production of the product was once stopped, but they started selling it again in 1955.

Fanta's introduction to Hungary is unknown, but it likely reached us in the 1990s. The drink is also famous for its advertisements, which are usually orange-colored and depict lemons or oranges (more often the latter). It is a very successful product worldwide. It is available in over 90 different flavors around the world.
