About the brand

Fanta is a fruit-flavored soft drink that has been produced by The Coca-Cola Company since 1940. It originally started in Germany during World War II. Max Keith, the head of the German Coca-Cola company, decided to create a new product, made from fruit. The name comes from a brainstorming session, when the company's employees could not decide what to call the drink. Keith told his team to "use their imagination", and one of the salesmen, Joe Knipp, exclaimed: "Fanta!" Production was stopped once, but it was reintroduced in 1955.

Fanta was introduced to Hungary at an unknown time, probably in the 1990s. The drink is also famous for its commercials, which are usually orange in color and feature lemons or oranges (mostly the latter). It is a very successful product worldwide. It is available in more than 90 flavors worldwide.
