About the brand

Fanta is a fruit-flavoured soft drink created by The Coca-Cola Company in 1940. It was originally created in Germany during World War II. Max Keith, the head of Coca-Cola Germany, decided to create a new product using fruit as a result of the trade embargo of that time. The name comes from the brainstorming session, when the company's employees could not decide on a name for the drink. Keith told his team to "use their imagination", and Joe Knipp, a salesman, exclaimed: "Fanta!" Production was discontinued, but the drink was re-introduced in 1955.

Fanta was introduced to Hungary at an unknown time, probably in the 1990s. The drink is also famous for its commercials, which are usually orange in colour and feature lemons or oranges (mostly the latter). It is a very successful product worldwide. It is available in more than 90 flavours around the world.
