This spiced rum was created from rums distilled in traditional and column stills at the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries in Jamaica. Its components were aged for 3 years and given character by rums aged for 5-10 years, then almost 15% of the entire blend was finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.

As for the spices, Madagascan vanilla, Caribbean coconut and Jamaican spices, including ginger, were added to the rum.

Maison Ferrand is the result of the meeting between Alexandre Gabriel and one of the oldest winegrowing families in the Cognac region in 1989. Alexandre Gabriel's intention was to breathe new life into Maison Ferrand and make it the world's finest cognac. He wanted to maintain the age-old, artisanal production methods that differ from mass production techniques, and he sought to bring back to the market the true expression of the great terroir of Grande Champagne – known as the finest region in Cognac.
