Producer information

The poor, fatherless Serbian boy from Szentendre, little Szavits Mladen, was a pastry apprentice in the famous Auguszt E. József shop on Krisztina Boulevard. One day, sometime in the early thirties, a Danish pastry chef came to the company and showed them that with enough manual dexterity, attention and lots of practice, pretty little roses can be made from the sugary, almond paste, the marzipan. Many hours, days, months, years and decades have passed and many hundreds of thousands of marzipan roses have been sold since then. With a lot of work and family cooperation, this rose gave birth to the thriving company in Pilisvörösvár by the mid-nineties, employing hundreds of workers, serving 90% of the Hungarian market, delivering to seven countries: Szamos, which also opened one of the most beautiful shops in downtown Pest in 1987. Today, the company produces not only marzipan paste, roses and figures, but also a wide variety of sweets, cakes and, last but not least, fine desserts. Most of the recipes are a testament to Mátyás Szamos' ingenuity. As many pieces, as many shapes, as many flavors, as many specialties, as many surprises.
