The amaryllis or knight's star (Hippeastrum) is a plant belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family, flowering from January to April, originating from the tropical and subtropical regions of America.

The purchased plant must always be repotted to ensure its long-term survival indoors. We recommend repotting them into a larger pot or planter so that they feel good in a heated apartment and do not wilt. It is important not to forget to spray them (with water)!

Interesting fact

The varieties generally available in stores are cultivated types, which bloom in various shades and decorate our homes during the grey late winter months.

Usage

Water the amaryllis and find a dark, warm place for it, or cover it. In overly damp and cool places, the bulb can be attacked by a fungal disease called red blotch.

Store at 10°C.
