Producer information
The poor Serbian boy from Szentendre, who grew up without a father, the little Szavits Mladen was a confectionery apprentice in the famous Auguszt E. József shop on Krisztina Boulevard. One day, sometime in the early thirties, a Danish confectioner came to the company and showed them that with enough manual dexterity, attention and a lot of practice, pretty little roses can be made from the sugary, almondy mass, the marzipan. Many hours, days, months, years and decades have passed and many hundreds of thousands of marzipan roses have been sold since then.

With a lot of work and family cooperation, this rose gave birth to the Pilisvörösvár company Szamos in the mid-nineties, which employs hundreds of people, serves 90% of the Hungarian market, delivers to seven countries and is developing promisingly. In 1987, Szamos also opened one of the most beautiful shops in downtown Pest. Today, the company produces not only marzipan mass, roses and figures, but also a wide variety of sweets, cakes and, last but not least, fine desserts. Most of the recipes are a testament to the ingenuity of Mátyás Szamos. As many pieces, as many shapes, as many flavors, as many specialties, as many surprises.
