The Monkey 47 also contains a unique and important ingredient. No, not a monkey, but cranberries! In total, it is flavoured with no less than 47 different plants and bottled at 47 degrees.

This abundance of well-chosen ingredients has borne fruit, as in 2011 the gin won a gold medal in the gin category at both the World Spirits Awards and the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

In 2011, for the first time in the history of the spirits competition, a German gin won the International Wine and Spirit Competition's "Gin Worldwide" best in category award, and in the same year it also won a gold medal at the World Spirit Awards competition. Since then, Monkey 47 has conquered the world's bars with fearsome confidence, and by now the monkey has become just as closely associated with gin as the deer is with stomach bitters.
