Fortune Plum is a yellow-fleshed variety that is harvested in mid-season.
It originates from a random selection of the Californian breeding program of the American company Zaiger, and is published in Europe by the French company IPS.
As a tree, it has a semi-upright habit and strong vigour. It can flower in areas with few or more chilling hours. It blooms in mid-season and has abundant flowering.
The fruit is 55/60 mm in size and has a spherical shape. Fortune enters production quickly, which is consistent and high every year, as long as it is combined with the appropriate pollinators. Its taste is balanced, very good and sweet (Brix: 16). The fruit's skin colour is red and the flesh is yellow.
It has very good firmness and is easy to handle for producers. It can be stored in a normal cold store for 50 days with minimal fruit quality deterioration.
