On 23 October 1901, “Lurmark” became the registered trademark for quality Danish butter, i.e. it became the benchmark against which all other butters were judged for quality. Since 1911, regular, blind tasting procedures and weekly sampling have ensured that only the very best dairies are entitled to use the Lurmark Danish butter brand. This system of checks and controls ensures that you can still enjoy the most perfect butter today.

The famous intertwined “Lur” horns – bronze age musical instruments that have become symbols of Denmark – can still be seen on the popular Lurpak® products today. Fine food deserves Lurpak butter.
