Producer Information

On January 4, 1993, Péter Varga started working at the Badacsonyörs winery with his wife and parents. Today, he works with his two sons and hopes that they, and later his grandchildren, will continue the winery. In the past 20 years, Hungarian winemaking has fundamentally renewed itself professionally and technologically, and the quality of wines has reached Western European standards. In parallel, consumer demand has also developed and changed significantly. Nowadays, people are less likely to simply drink wines; instead, they taste them, seeking out the interesting and the special. They no longer only drink wines from nearby wine regions but also have the opportunity to explore the wine offerings of the country, Europe, and even the entire world. Therefore, it is not enough to simply produce beautiful, balanced wines; there is a need for wines that leave an impression on the consumer, that they remember and will choose again from the thousands of available options.
