AWÁ Cascara Liqueur by Bányai 20%
Behind AWÁ Cascara Liqueur stands Bányai Coffee, Hungary's only coffee producer and roaster. The cascara – the sun-dried fruit pulp of the coffee cherry – which serves as the basis for this special drink, is processed after the harvest of their own cultivated specialty coffees.
The resulting AWÁ liqueur brings the exoticism of Central America, the warmth of sun-drenched hillsides, and the pure harmony of elegance and naturalness to every glass.
Usage
AWÁ liqueur embodies the rich flavour profile of cascara obtained from these exceptional coffee cherries – whether enjoyed neat, chilled over ice, as a refreshing Cascara Tonic, or in a creative long drink, the experience is always special and exotic.
Origin of Cascara: Bányai Coffee's plantations are located in the heart of Costa Rica, in the famous Lourdes mountains, 1500 meters above sea level. The farm operates with regenerative methods, and our coffees have already proven themselves in prestigious international competitions such as the Cup of Excellence.
The origin of the name is linked to the BRIBRI indigenous community of Costa Rica. In this ancient culture, the term "AWÁ" refers to a spiritual leader, healer, or shaman. The choice of name was inspired by the origin of the drink's raw material, the spiritual traditions of the local community, the untouched nature, and the sunshine that resonates in every sip.
Process
The cascara was steeped in medical-grade alcohol for 2 months. Subsequently, it was diluted to the final 20% alcohol content.
