Naturmind Himalayan Salt, Fine Pink
Himalayan salt comes from the Punjab region of Pakistan. To this day, it is largely mined by hand and undergoes only minimal processing. No additives are added and its colour is due to the minerals it contains (iron), not artificial colouring.
Significance, effect
Like table salt, it is mainly composed of sodium chloride (98%), but it also contains a number of other minerals. This may seem appealing, but if we consider how little we use for hand salting, the amount of minerals thus ingested is almost zero. Those who have to watch their salt intake due to health problems cannot consume Himalayan salt immoderately either, and those whose doctor has recommended iodised table salt should rather choose that, as Himalayan salt does not contain iodine (or they must cover their daily iodine intake from another source).
Use
Its use is the same as that of ordinary table salt, it has no aftertaste and dissolves in a similar way. In addition to nutritional purposes, it can also be used in bath salt mixtures, for example.
