Ingredients overview
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Orange and/or lemon slices (untreated)
- 1 clove garlic or dried garlic powder
- 1 small sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- Whole trout
Thoroughly inspect the ready-to-cook trout; if any scales are found, scrape them off, then rinse and pat dry with a kitchen towel to remove excess water.
Crush or finely chop the garlic, and mix thoroughly with the salt, a pinch of pepper, and the oil. Rub this oily spice mixture both inside and outside the trout, then place a few slices of untreated citrus and the herb inside the fish.
Place the fish on a baking tray lined with baking paper, then bake until done at 185 degrees Celsius for approximately 20 minutes.
Chef's tip
Children under 1 year old can also safely eat this fish, but be very careful with the bones. For babies, it can be offered as a puree or in small pieces with finely steamed vegetables, and adults can also enjoy it with roasted or steamed vegetables.
