INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg peeled, cored apples
- Cinnamon to taste
- Vanilla to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
PREPARATION
- 1Apple sauce is extremely versatile, as it can be served not only on its own but also with cakes, yogurts, and meats, and it can also be used very well as a sweetener instead of sugar in certain types of sweet pastries.
- 2Cut the apples into smaller pieces and place them in a pot, then add about 1 dl of water and the lemon juice.
- 3The apples will steam under a lid in 10-15 minutes, then add the spices.
- 4After a few minutes, purée it to the desired consistency with a food processor. If you want a thicker sauce, heat it without a lid for a few minutes to thicken it.
- 5It keeps for 5-6 days in the refrigerator, but can also be frozen in a sealable silicone purée or ice cube tray.
